Notice Regarding Trademark Registration
(Notice Publication Date: 2025/12/01)
This department published a notice about trademark registration on August 19, 2025. However, this notice was postponed on September 24, 2025, because of widespread violence, including arson, vandalism, and looting during the GenZ protest on September 09, 2025. These events caused significant damage to files in the Industrial Property Section, disrupting operations.
We are now releasing this notice with important updates for everyone involved:
- For Trademark Applications Pending Due to Incomplete Documents:
- If you’ve applied for trademark registration and it has been pending for over seven (7) years because of missing documents, you need to submit the necessary documents within 90 days (by February 28, 2026) from this notice. If you don’t, your application will be automatically canceled, meaning it will be considered abandoned and removed from our records without additional notice.
Important: This rule applies to all future trademark applications. Any application pending for more than 7 years due to incomplete documents will be deemed abandoned and removed from official records.
- For Trademark Applications Published IP Journal Before This Notice:
- If your trademark was published in the Industrial Property Bulletin before this notice and no one opposed it, you must apply for your Registration Certificate with any required documents within 6 months (by May 31, 2026) from this notice. If you don’t apply within this timeframe, your trademark application will be canceled.
