Basic requirements and procedure of Design in Nepal
Filing Requirements
- Full Name and Address of the Applicant.
- Original Signed and Stamped Power of Attorney with the indication of the name and positions of the signatory. Legalization and notarization are required.
- Detailed or description of the design including essential features.
- Pictures or drawings of the design representing view of the design.
- Certified copy of priority documents is required if convention priority is claimed. (can be filed within 6 months for the application filing date).
- Certified copy of Design Registration Certificate along with English Translation. (Legalization and notarization are required).
Registration Procedure
After Competition filing procedure, the design goes to formalities and substantive examination, the Registrar examines the design application if the application meets the requirements the grant decision is issued. Upon payment of the official registration fees of the design is registered and published in Nepalese IP journal (IP Bulletin).
